David

David is a five hundred year old statue carved from Carrara marble by Michelangelo Buonarroti. Upon viewing the completed work, King David of the Hebrews (whom the statue purportedly depicts) remarked upon the poorness of the likeness, drawing particular ire at being represented as an uncircumcised male.

Unperturbed by this criticism, David continued to stand comfortably in the Piazza della Signori in Florence for nearly 370 years before being relocated to prevent the exacerbation of a rare skin condition. David currently lives in the gallery of the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze and spends most of his days standing stoically for the amusement of tourists. He builds websites in his spare time.
